We are pleased to announce that Sanjay Luthra (Mattel) was appointed as the new Chairman of the TIE Board at its meeting on 5 March. Sanjay, who is Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Mattel, has a wealth of experience in the sector, having worked in several global positions for the company since 2003. He has been a Board member since 2017, serving as Vice-Chair of TIE from 2018, and is excited to take up his new role “TIE is at the vanguard for the toy sector when it comes to how EU policy-making affects the everyday business of reputable toy companies. It is with much enthusiasm that I pick up the reins from TIE’s departing Chair, Foye Pascoe, whose excellent leadership has driven TIE forward over the last two years. I look forward to working with my toy sector colleagues to pursue TIE’s mission of promoting the right of every child to play safely and securely and promoting fair practices and fair legislation, allowing responsible toy companies to continue to grow.”
As chairman, Sanjay will be supported by Yusuf Beyaz (Lego), who continues his role as treasurer and Carlos Callejo (Hasbro) who we are pleased to welcome to the TIE board as Vice Chair. Carlos is currently the General Manager for Benelux, CEE, Greece, Nordics and Turkey at Hasbro.
