More than 100 EU and national organisations, including TIE, are urging EU countries to keep the Single Market in mind when agreeing on their approach on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). As it stands now, the deal still allows Member States to introduce their own restrictions. This goes against the regulation’s goal of greater harmonisation of packaging sustainability rules across the EU and thus the ambitions of the Green Deal.
