TIE and EU associations call for a revamped EU Single Market

TIE and other EU associations urge European policymakers to rescue the stagnating EU Single Market and make product legislation more effective.

We ask EU leaders for:

  • Coherent, simple and clear product legislation. Rules should not be vague or overly ambiguous.
  • Better and more frequent enforcement. It is crucial to protect our industry and consumers against competition from players who disregard the rules.
  • No national provisions contrasting with the EU laws. Diverging national requirements, for instance for products and labelling, break up the Single Market.
