“Don’t ban non-rechargeable batteries” TIE says

In a statement released earlier this week, TIE and 13 other sector associations urge the European Commission not come forward with a ban of non-rechargeable batteries. The Commission will propose new EU rules for batteries later this year. Despite the Commission’s consultant conclusion that a full ban has no environmental benefits, we understand that a ban is still a serious option under consideration by EU officials.
